Social robots for primary math education – Sorocova project

I’m proud to be part of the Sorocova research team. Since 2021, we have been investigating how a social robot can support primary math education. We work together in a consortium (see below on the poster, sorry it is in Dutch), involving 6 schools in the Netherlands, and tested child-robot interactions with 130 children. We compared different conditions of social and educational robot behavior. Read more about this in our papers. The publication ‘Design Specifications for a Social Robot Math Tutor’ was awarded the second prize for ‘Best Studies Paper Award’ at the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction ’23. You can read more about the research on the project website.
